The Lamb and the Empty Fold

A Lamb heard a bell from an empty fold.

“Many are waiting,” called a voice within.

The Lamb entered and found one other Lamb, who handed her the bell.

“Ring for the next,” he said. “Otherwise no flock will come.”

By evening the fold was crowded with Lambs, each claiming the crowd had called him there.
